More good news contributing to the legitimacy of Rust, as Google announces that the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) now supports the Rust programming language for developing the OS itself. From the article:
…memory safety bugs continue to be a top contributor of stability issues, and consistently represent ~70% of Android’s high severity security vulnerabilities.
Rust is well known for having memory safety as a top feature, so it’s really nice to see another platform where it can shine.
